EUROYARDS is a European Economic Interest Grouping seated in Brussels, pursuant to the terms and conditions of EEC Regulation 2137/85 of the Council of 25th July 1985. Incorporated in 1992, the original membership within the group has changed over the years mirroring the evolution of the European shipbuilding industry, so today EUROYARDS includes:
EUROYARDS represents major shipbuilding companies in several European countries.
In the pre-eminent segment of cruise ships, the aforementioned companies represent a significant proportion of the world-wide orderbook. Moreover, the EUROYARDS shipyards are the leading builders of other major high-technology vessel types such as ferries of different types, chemical, off-shore and specialised vessels, specialised cargo ships and yachts. Furthermore, some members play a big part in the naval shipbuilding segment.
EUROYARDS members employ a workforce of almost 55.000 and have a production value in the range of € 13 bn.
EEIG EUROYARDS is managed by an executive committee, whose members are senior managers of the companies belonging to the group.
Taking advantage of the resources of its companies, the activities of EUROYARDS are followed by ad-hoc working groups.
